D40-5285; 1942 Blouse or Slip with Blouse Top

When worn as the Slip with Blouse Top, you’ll never have to tuck your blouse in again! 9-piece pattern originally by DuBarry, the slip pattern is marked to be cut away below the waistline for a separate blouse. Styles 1 and 1A have lace trimmed jabots and the neck is finished with a lace-trimmed collar. Sleeves may be cut in bishop (long, gathered) style or short with cuff trimmed in lace. Styles 2 and 2A are finished with front bands which are cut on one with the collar. Short sleeve of Style 2 is finished with a plain cuff.

SUGGESTED FABRICS: Blouse Only: Sheer wools, chiffon wools, wool crepe. Blouse or Slip with Blouse Top: Spun rayon, printed silks, faille, challis, satin, novelty silks, printed cottons, novelty cottons, cotton lace, sheer cottons, lawn.

¾” seam allowance is given at shoulder and underarm (side) seams to permit alteration. ½” is allowed on all other edges.

Sizes:

Size set A fits 14-20 (32" to 38" bust, 26-1/2" to 32" waist, 35" to 41" hip).

Size set B fits 40-46 (40" to 46" bust, 34" to 40" waist, 43" to 49" hip).
