The 1869 bustle dress project came to a close with the completed ensemble as I wore it to our volunteer group 'Pick-Nick' to honor the 100th birthday of our Fort Whipple. On the boards now, I prepare for a trunk show I will put on for our local American Sewing Guild chapter June 4. I will demonstrate my pattern line in a very 'making-ness' sense. I will highlight a technical construction aspect to each design I present in finished garments from the patterns. A sneak peek at my Power Point presentation:

I hit right at the belt and below it in the 1869 skirt this week. Our living history group at Sharlot Hall Museum of which I am a part, will hold a 'pick-nick' Saturday the 21st. I will wear the 1869 Costume I have been creating from my Victorian series of pattern (in conjunction with The Barrington House) since the beginning of this year. I expect to have complete photos of the complete 'costume' to share in next week's storyboard!

Having launched the new site, I am still adding content to the 1800's/early 1900's and original vintage pattern collections. Some fine-tuning will be done here and there as well into the next week at least. As well, time has gone into re-populating the previous blog address with images per my new ip. This too, will consume much time in the next weeks.
