The images in this post show a vintage Persian lamb coat I re-purposed into a stuffed collar for my 1929 Coat from pattern C20-6611.
-HOW TO CUT FUR-
Trim seam allowances from any pattern pieces to be used for fur pieces. Lay pattern on pelt side and mark with soft pencil (not shown). Keep hair going all one way in regard to pattern’s straight of grain if cutting in sections.
Cut with razor blade or knife from the backside through the pelt only (do not cut the hair).

Overhand pelt seams, never catching hairs in the stitches.

Overhand twill tape to fur, holding pelt side toward you; turn back tape and catch-stitch its free edge over pelt backing.

-FOR TRIMMING with FUR-
For trimming garment areas such as edges, sleeves or a coat back with fur, catch-stitch all taped fur edges to garment.
