Sp20-3496; 1920's Ladies' Knickers

Originally by Butterick, this 13-piece pattern for the knickers have button lap openings at each side with one welt pocket at right front and reinforced crotch.  There are two options in the depth of leg bands which close with buttons and buttons may be sewn into the waistband to receive brace fastenings.  Well suited for riding, motoring and hiking!  Note the striped socks!

This pattern is for the more advanced sewer as instructions are very basic and un-illustrated.

3/4" seams are given at underarm (all side) seams and 3/8" seams are given on all other edges.  there is a one-inch let out at the center back seam for tailoring.

These Knickers were marketed by the Butterick Pattern Company with the 1920's Middy Blouse which you will find as a single-size pattern here.

It may also be worn with our French Coquette Blouse, here.  Or, plain styles of this blouse, as shown in View 3.
