1930 Leaf Evening Gown E30-4101

$ 25.00

E30-4101; 1930 Leaf Evening Gown

I designed this 10-piece pattern based on the color rendering originally sketched by a pattern company artist at a runway show in 1930.  The caption written on the original reads:
'Evening gown of tulle. Leaf-like design for back and large bow. Chic New York, Hollywood.'

NOTE: No pattern given for leaf panel - cut a piece of fabric to match frock, 24” x 39” – remember to add seam allowance to cut as pieced in layout.

Suggested fabrics are: Silk tulle, organza net, silk organza, cotton bobbinet or silk gazar.  Recommended lining: china silk or taffeta in same or contrasting color.

Novelty leaves may be purchased, or self-made from any of the fabrics listed above, velvet or ribbon.

Depending on the washability of the leaves you use, it may be preferred to make the straps completely detachable.  It is also recommended that the leaf panel be removable with hooks and eyes.

This pattern is for the more advanced sewer as instructions are very basic and lightly illustrated, they are not depicted in a step-by-step manner.

3/8" seams are given.

Sizes:

Size set A fits 14-18 (32" to 36" bust, 26" to 30" waist, 35" to 39" hip).

Size set B fits 20-42 (38" to 42" bust, 32" to 36" waist, 41" to 45" hip).

PATTERN NOT IN YOUR SIZE? I am happy to furnish an additional schematic showing where to adjust the pattern pieces with instructions on how to go about it upon request.
