She posted her patriotic version of the dress accompanied by a sweet hand embroidered apron by her grandmother in the 50's. Jennie topped it all off in true vintage style by adding 1930's deadstock embroidered lettering to add her initials and was chosen in the drawing to receive the $25 gift certificate to EvaDress.com for the month of July! Alexandra Reynolds8-piece pattern originally by DuBarry Pattern Co., 'A softly styled afternoon dress with the back cut in one with the shoulder yokes. The surplice bodice is draped in flattering fashion above the molded diaphragm yoke. The skirt is slightly flared with gathered fullness in the back. Short or three-quarter length sleeves.' 3/4" seams are given at underarm (side) seams and 1/2" seams are given on all other edges. Alexandra Reynolds4-piece pattern originally by German Beyer's Modenblatt, the dress closed with 6 buttons down the front and was sewn at the center the rest of the way to the hem. I have given it 9 buttons leaving the front edges free and finished with a front facing. An optional belt fastens to the dress at the front via buttonholes at each end to fasten at the front waistline button. The neckline is cut out and shaped and bodice is fitted at the front armhole and front and back waistline with darts. 5/8" seams are given. See a customer's review of this pattern! SUGGESTED...

This is an advanced design for the evening gown with back stays and sash in self or contrasting fabric.
