15-piece pattern for the dress with optional slip, open coat and Newport-style hat.   The coat (3-piece pattern) may be ordered as a separate.  The dress skirt may be accordion-pleated and comes with flounced slip (8-piece pattern) sold as a set aside from the entire ensemble. I designed this pattern based on the color rendering originally sketched by a pattern company artist at a runway show in 1930.  The caption written on the original reads: 'Seen at the fashion show.  Coarse black net.  Black taffeta bands.'   Originally by Lutterloh, for a soft and comfortable line, the skirt joins the waist front just above the bust and shirring is created over the waist with an overlay.  Low V-neck is trimmed with lace in the short sleeve frock, and left plain in the long sleeve frock. I am really struck by the VERY unique look she gave this frock by using the true Scottish plaid and contrasting it with the black velveteen.
