Pattern Tour D30-5156, 1933 Katharine Hepburn Ensemble

This 11-piece pattern originally by Butterick is a very scarce pattern for Howard Greer's design for a costume as worn by Miss Hepburn in an R.K.O. Radio Picture', being her first starring role in 'Christopher Strong'.    The ensemble consists of the pleated hat, one-piece dress and jacket with long or short cut-away sleeves and attached scarf that laps over the front to close the jacket with buttons. 3/4" seams are given at underarm (all side) seams and 3/8" seams are given on all other edges. In a sort of Advents-Kalendar way, I will post 'red' for each day of December through Christmas and link the image as closely as possible to EvaDress Patterns (in pattern tour form)! Image per: http://rubylane.com/ Sew the look using our 1885 Pelerine Mantle pattern: Originally from Harper's Bazaar, this simple three-piece Mantle pattern can be lengthened to fashion it similarly to the extant example at top.  Making it in a luxe fabric such as velvet or brocade with a fancy trim would warrant it a supreme evening wrap!
