In a sort of Advents-Kalendar way, I will post 'red' for each day of December through Christmas and link the image as closely as possible to EvaDress Patterns (in pattern tour form)!
Here is the thirteenth, 1880's Dress with jet beaded polonaise, photo per: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a3/96/fb/a396fb18b0331481a85d83cd8bb13df1.jpg
Sew the look using our 1885 Grenadine Mantle pattern:
Originally by Haper's Bazaar, this wrap was made in Grenadine with velvet 'figures' or motifs in its weave. Today, a gauze or very fine jacquard may be used instead. I likened this pattern to the extant example for the Grenadine mantle sleeve embellishment of jet beads on tulle. The appearance of the entire polonaise on the extant red dress appears beaded in jet.
